Abstract

This paper provides an analysis of how the major political parties have prioritized partisan politics at the expense of the general population. All political parties present a manifesto that seeks to change the lives of the people during the elections but immediately when they are elected into power they follow their political party processes. The purpose of this article is to show how the political system in South Africa is made to create a wrong public perception of how the lives of the people can be changed. The objective of this article is to show how political party infightings have disrupted public service delivery. This also includes the political infightings between the different political parties. This study found that the political parties use poverty and the needs of the people as a weapon to access government power. The findings of the study were found through the secondary data that was collected from various credible platforms. The study concludes that all political parties make the same promises but with no intention to deliver accordingly.
