Impact of Oral Contraceptives in the Management of Dysmenorrhea at Clinical Setups of Hyderabad, Pakistan

Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the proper practice of oral contraceptives in
the controlling of dysmenorrhea in numerous patients as well as monitor the delivered guidelines. The rational use with proper directions about oral contraceptives provided through this study which helped our
health organizations to provide the directions for appropriate use of oral contraceptive pills (OCPs) as
well as highpoint the significance of pharmacist and former health care suppliers in health care organization. In result of this study patient awareness regarding OCPs and improved patient compliance was observed which support to safeguard the rational practice of oral contraceptives. Through this cross sectional study which was directed in Hyderabad, Pakistan, in which 300 female participants were joined
through purposive sampling method between August 2018 to August 2019 partaking age among 9 years to
45 years and the data was collected on a pre-designed questionnaire. A post treatment feedback of patient
were collected on their next visit. Questionnaire was composed of multiple questions including bleeding
duration, discernment of flow, characteristics of pain, harshness, length of pain, subjects age, food habits,
food intake as well as influence of dysmenorrhea.
