Abstract

Background and objective: Geriatric syndrome has been widely studied due to the manifestations evidenced in diseases with chronic pain related to the frailty of the elderly population. Therefore, the objective of this research was to recognize which are the pathologies reported in research published in Spanish that relate to the fragility of the older adult during the 2010-2020 period. Materials and methods: this is a research that made use of the criteria outlined in the PRISMA statement, where use was made of the databases Scopus, Medigraphic, PubMed, Google Scholar, for the period between 2010-2020 research related to chronic pain and frailty in the older adult. The inclusion of the documents studied was based on the following criteria: published in the period 2010-2020, being open access, descriptive or unpublished theoretical works, in open access format, written in Spanish, after the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria (b-1 and b-2) a total of eleven works reviewed and analyzed were considered (n= 11).  Results: that most of the diseases were related to frailty associated with functional deterioration, with hip fracture being one of the most common in the elderly population. Conclusions: The works reviewed are an essential theoretical contribution to develop research that seeks to diagnose the problem in a given study area and establish proposals for medical trials for the treatment of diseases that lead to the manifestation of chronic pain.
