Abstract

Technological breakthroughs in producing normal and patient-derived iPSCs have greatly increased our understanding of human developmental dynamics and plasticity. The development of advanced instruments for tissue replacement therapies and drug discovery, as well as the use of in vitro organoid miniatures, was a critical milestone in advancing regenerative medicine. Meanwhile, advances in specialist genome editing technologies have dramatically improved the precision with which human genome genetic mutations may be made. While this achievement has had a profound impact on nearly every sector of biological research, the physiological significance of human stem cells and organoids, when employed as assessment instruments, might significantly aid existing and future improvements in genome editing technology. Synergies between these technologies will likely continue to accelerate the evolution of biomedical translational research.
