Abstract

Microspheres has been accepted as a method to gain sustained release delivery of drug by extending the residence time of formulation at the site of absorption by enhancing and improving the bioavailability of drug. Ficus religiosa is used in the treatment of sex problems, ear issues, scabies, toothaches, rheumatic pain, migraines, haematuria, gastric issues, cough, asthma and diarrhoea. Plant extract have different properties for example anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-microbial. Microspheres is the multiple unit dosage form and help to maintain plasma level, dose of drug and decrease the side effects of drugs. Ficus religiosa loaded microspheres show the action on rheumatic pain. The phytochemical examination of peepal leaves showed “α-amyrin, aspartic acid, tannic acid, proline, stigmasterol, campestrol, lupeol, isofucosterol, alanine, noctacosan, threonine, tyrosine, isoleucine, serine, methionine valine, arginine, leucine, tryptophan, methionine, glycine, n-octacosan, n-hentricontanen and hexa-cosanol”. So this research work is focused on the study of microsphere of methanolic extract of Ficus religiosa for the treatment of rheumatic pain
