Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common cancer to be diagnosed and the main reason why women die from cancer, hence it is crucial to conduct research in this area to reduce the financial and emotional load. To complete this goal, basic research is needed, and cell lines are involved since they can be widely used in many types of laboratory research, particularly as in vitro models for cancer research. Homeopathy is an integrative part of medical system which uses Ultra high diluted preparations for various kind of treatments.

METHOD: Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guideline, we conducted a literature search in web databases Pubmed, Research gate, Google scholar, and Scopus for publications, from 2011 to 2022 on in vitro experimental cancer models majorly testing homeopathic high dilutions.  Various preclinical laboratory studies are conducted to explain the mechanism of action of ultra-high diluted homoeopathic medicine against breast cancer cell lines.

RESULT: Multiple in vitro studies using medicines are conducted for their effectiveness against breast cancer. However, researches that suggest homoeopathic high dilutions may be helpful against cancer in animal models have been published over the past 20 years. The present review reveals the evidence based medicinal effects of such medicines on various breast cancer cell lines in vitro with the help of quality studies.  It is clear from a number of writings that homoeopathic medicines are manufactured using ultra-high dilution in accordance with homoeopathic principles, where homoeopathic treatment reduces cell proliferation and enhances quality of life. Breast cancer modelling, which includes a panel of diseases with different phenotypical connections, has made extensive use of breast cancer cell lines. This focused the investigator’s attention on this carrying out this review on invitro breast cell line studies.
