Abstract

Background: A food or food product that offers health and medical benefits, including the prevention and treatment of disease, is referred to as a nutraceutical. The term nutraceutical is derived from the words "nutrition" and "pharmaceutical." A growing public awareness of good health has led to an increase in the demand for nutraceuticals in recent years. Dietary supplements are now offered in the general market. The US market for nutraceuticals is close to 86 billion dollars. Bhavaprakash, have mentioned guideline about Nutrition. The current article discusses nutraceuticals, the Ayurvedic view of nutrition, as well as potential and useful combinations of Ayurvedic nutraceuticals for various preventive and curative purposes. Material and Methods: Ayurvedic texts, as well as the data web-based search engines, journal were used to search for relevant literature and information. Result: The two main subcategories of Ayurvedic nutraceutics are preventive nutraceutics and curative nutraceutics. The various "KritannaVarga" cereal and pulse preparations are flavored with medications used to treat specific illnesses. The Dhatu level activity, which corresponds to subcellular activity, is influenced by Rasayana medicines. Immuno-modulatory, adaptogenic, regenerative, antioxidant and collectively are comparable words. Rasayana is beneficial for both treating and preventing illnesses. Conclusion: Ayurvedic nutraceutics may also have potential, and the future possibility for Ayurveda nutraceuticals to demonstrate their curative and preventive properties is the generation of validated and evidence-based data.
