Abstract

The   purpose of this exploration research work is to develop cost effective and efficient method for the synthesis of 2-Amino 5-Phenoxybenzenethiols, Phenothiazines and its sulphones. Wide spread applications of 2-Amino 5-Phenoxybenzenethiols, Phenothiazines in medicinal, industrial, biological and agricultural fields have stimulated our interest to synthesize 2-Amino 5-Phenoxybenzenethiols, Phenothiazines which have been used as synthetic intermediates for the synthesis of a variety of pharmacologically important heterocyclic compounds. The aryl pharmacophore of 2-Amino 5-Phenoxybenzenethiols, Phenothiazines exhibits a wide range of biological and pharmacological activities, such as anticonvulsant, antituberculosis, antiproferative, antitumor, antimicrobial, analgesic, vasodilator etc.In the present research work we have synthesized a number of 2-Amino 5-Phenoxybenzenethiols, Phenothiazines to explore their medicinal potential. The various methods have been reported in the literature for the synthesis of these compounds. The purity was checked by Thin Layer Chromatography and Structures are supported by IR and NMR.
