A Study To Assess Effectiveness Of Pamphlet On Knowledge Regarding Side Effect Of Gutkha Among The Auto Drivers In Selected Areas Of Pune City

Introduction: Gutka, ghutka, guṭkha or betel quid is a chewing tobacco preparation made of crushed areca nut (also called betel nut), tobacco, catechu, paraffin wax, slaked lime (Calcium hydroxide) and sweet or savory flavorings, in India, Pakistan, other Asian countries, and North America.The present study title: “A Study to assess effectiveness of pamphlet on knowledge regarding side effect of Gutkha among the auto drivers in selected areas of Pune city”.
Material and Methods: In present study, researcher adopted Correlative Descriptive research design It was carried out on 150 samples. The Non-probability purposive sampling technique was used to data was collected using demographic profile and clinical profile. Data analysis was done mainly using descriptive statistics. Result: Result revealed pre and post intervention that the pre intervention mean score was 8.13 with SD 2.91 that was increased after the intervention which was 13.55% with SD 3.97. So it was stated that pamphlet on knowledge regarding side effects of gutka among the auto drivers was effective. Conclusion : There is effectiveness of pamphlet regarding the gutka.
