Abstract

In recent years, numerous administration methods that do not need the use of needles have arisen as a substitute for traditional needle injections. Due to its low rejection rate, exceptional effortlessness of administration, superb convenience and persistence amidst patients, topical drug delivery, a transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS) via a systemic methodology is the method that stands out as the most desirable among these options. Systemic delivery may have applications not just in the pharmaceutical sector but also in the industry of skincare, which includes the cosmetics industry. In this analysis, we analyse the various types of new DDSs in the systemic release of transdermal and topical drugs that are now available, such as nano-colloids, nanofibres, nanoparticle polymers etc., and a critical evaluation of the precise benefits and drawbacks, characterisation methods, along with each method’s potential.
