Abstract

Over the last two decades, extensive research work has been conducted on metal and metal oxide nanoparticles and their application in the field of medical, cosmetics, catalysts, packaging, photonics, agriculture and electronics. Green synthesis aims in particular at decreasing the usage of toxic chemicals. For instance, the use of biological materials such as plants is usually safe. Plants also contain reducing and capping agents. synthesis of metal nanoparticles using plant extracts is one of the most simple, convenient, economical, and environmentally friendly methods that mitigate the involvement of toxic chemicals. Here we present the principles of green chemistry, and we review synthesis of nanoparticles using Syzygium cumini extracts and their recent applications. Various physical parameter and particle properties of green synthesized Fe3O4 spherical magnetic nanoparticle, Silver Nanoparticles, Copper nanoparticles, Gold nanoparticles, Co/CoO nanoparticles, ZnO nanoparticles and TiO2 nanoparticles using Syzygium cumini leaves and seeds extract were represented along with their potential applications. The review contains a summary with a detailed description of the process of synthesis, mechanism, characterization and their application in various fields of biosynthesized metal and metal oxide nanoparticles of Syzygium cumini
