Abstract

Medicated jellies candies formulations are more suitable for child & old age patients, which isgoing to be easy administration & facial high absorption of drugs. This study aims to prepare such a jelly candy that maintains the weight in obesity and cccl4 induced hepatoxicity.  The objectives of the present investigation were to formulate and evaluate of Medicated oral jelly containing active constituent hydroxycitric acid. Hydroxycitric acid is one of the  organic active compound which is isolated from the Graciana Cambogia fruit extract  , by nature it is sour in test and  good source of citric caid and help in weight loss . Jellies were prepared by heating and congealing methods by dispersing gelling agents in water and evaluated for their physicochemical parameters like appearance, stickiness, pH, viscosity, Spreadability, stability studies, drug release, and content uniformity. All batches (JF1-JF6) of medicated jelly showed acceptable and comparable appearance, pH, viscosity, Spreadability, stability studies, drug release, and content uniformity. The viscosity range was found to be 5000 to 7000 cps. The drug content of the optimized formulation JF5  was found to be in the range of 92.95%. Additionally this optimized formulation utilized for the in-vivo activity of the obesity  management and hepatoxicity and as result it shows significant effect in the management of both.
